In a 2018 interview with Good Morning Britain, Markle recalled telling Harry that he was unhappy with Trump. Harry, he said, replied, “Give Donald Trump a chance.” Markle said he “sort of disagreed” and later drew a line: “That was his politics, I have my politics.”
The following year, TMZ reported that sources close to Markle described him as a Democrat who “hates Trump” and was furious at being compared to red-state voters. In 2025, he said he wanted to leave the U.S. because he was tired of “the politics of the States that disappoints me.” None of this suggests MAGA affiliation.

The confusion is understandable. Markle’s public attacks on Meghan and Harry sometimes overlap with right-wing media narratives, and Trump himself has taken swipes at Meghan. But sharing the same targets does not mean sharing the same politics. Markle has never campaigned for Trump, donated to him, or described himself as a Republican.
His 2026 arrest on allegations involving CSAM—which he denies—has renewed tabloid scrutiny, but it does not change his long-standing political self-description. On the available evidence, Thomas Markle is a disgruntled estranged father and a Democrat, not a MAGA Republican.
