Royal fans have suspected that Prince Edward underwent weight loss after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth, but it seems like he is busier handling the new position of Duke of Edinburgh than explaining the rumors about his personal life. Although there is no confirmation if Prince Edward has lost weight, fans are wanting to know about Kent's health.

Prince Edward, Duke of Kent (KG, GCMG, GCVO, CD, ADC) is a member of the British royal family. He was born on October 9, 1935, at No. 3 Belgrave Square, London, to the Duke and Duchess of Kent. He was born into the royal family; his mother was the daughter of Prince Nicholas of Greece and Denmark and Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia, and his father was the fourth son of King George V and Queen Mary.

Prince Edward was raised in luxury and began his education at Ludgrove, a Berkshire preparatory school, before moving on to Eton College and later Le Rosey in Switzerland. He attended the Royal Military College Sandhurst after high school, where he won the Sir James Moncrieff Grierson medal for foreign languages; he is familiar with almost seven foreign languages.

The Duke of Kent graduated from the Royal Military College Sandhurst as a second lieutenant in the Royal Scots Greys on July 29, 1955, marking the start of a military career that lasted more than 20 years. On July 29, 1961, he was promoted to captain.

Edward served in Hong Kong from 1962 to 1963, later joining the staff of Eastern Command. On December 31, 1967, he was elevated to major. Since 2001, he has also served as Royal Patron of The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn, a post previously held by his father.

Prince Edward’s Weight Loss: There Is No Confirmation if He Has Lost Weight or Not!

Royal fans have assumed that Prince Edward lost weight following his death at the hands of Queen Elizabeth, but it appears that he is too concerned with his new role as Duke of Edinburgh to address the accusations regarding his personal life. Previously, when Edward's wife Sophie was asked about his weight loss, she stated that her husband had lost 20 pounds following the diagnosis of type II diabetes in 2012.

On the occasion of the Commonwealth Day Ceremony of King Charles' reign, Sophie, the wife of the Prince wore a particular item to her first royal engagement as the Duchess of Edinburgh. Meghan wore the black and white pearl drop earrings her husband designed for her on her royal wedding day at King Charles' inaugural Commonwealth Day ceremony on Monday.

On June 19, 1999, the Duchess of Edinburgh married the Duke of Edinburgh, wearing magnificent earrings and a matching cross necklace, both gifts from the groom. The pair has been married for more than 24 years and has two children. The royal couple seems to be happy with each other and the parents have always said to be taught them to be good humans. During the interview, Sophie stated:

We try to bring them up with the understanding they are very likely to have to work for a living. Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles. They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it's highly unlikely.

Speaking of Edward's weight, he has always been fit and, based on his appearance, seems to be very conscious of it. Although he seems perfectly healthy in the spotlight, he has been diagnosed with diabetes and has often suffered from health problems. The good news for his fans is that he has recently gained the position of Duke of Edinburgh, but people seem to be more concerned about his health than his position.

During the interview, Edward's wife Sophie was asked about his weight loss. Well, being in the spotlight is never an easy thing especially when it's about the negative factor. She expressed her feelings and stated that her husband had once lost 20 pounds due to a health problem that was noticed by many. She also said:

I recall when my husband was diagnosed with type II diabetes in 2012 and he lost 20 pounds. At his brother's funeral, a few months later I could see people staring at him as if they thought he was terminally ill and would be the next to die.

Not only the health problem but Prince has also been suspected of losing weight after his parent's deaths. People have been speculating that since the deaths of his parents, he has suffered from mental illness, which has affected his physical appearance. Well, the rumors and gossip will never stop, and we can only hope that the new Duke of Edinburgh has nothing serious to be worried about and will amaze the royal fans as he always has.
