He found that after a week of following a straightforward food regimen, he had lost 6 to 7 pounds. He trained in Filipino martial arts, kickboxing, wrestling, blade fighting, and shooting. Now, if he spends a weekend away and eats anything he wants, the weight quickly returns. He then returns to his high-protein, low-carb diet, which is usually successful.

The host claims that despite the correlation between childhood obesity and funding reductions for physical education programs, his increased muscularity has not changed his political beliefs.
