Everyone understands that food has a significant impact on how you feel and the ups and downs in your life. She had no idea about any of it before embarking on her weight loss journey.

The New Zealand-born Australian radio presenter ate whatever she wanted because she enjoyed it. She had no idea it could cause ups and downs. Lee also never worked out and her diet consisted primarily of fast foods. She used to be a heavy drinker with a poor diet. She was the girl who ate whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted.

Meanwhile, the singer/songwriter was at her heaviest in 2009. She gained 30 pounds after marrying and then divorcing Gold Coast tradie Jamie Babbington at 21. Meanwhile, the lightbulb moment came in 2010 when Ricki was gasping for air on stage while performing with the Backstreet Boys. Lee was so unfit and unhealthy that she'd probably only eaten two pizzas before skolling a bottle of wine. She felt too fat at the time.

Rick Lee Lost 30 Pounds After Completely Overhauling Her Diet About Nine Years Ago, Going From a Size 14 to an 8

Ricki Lee has chronicled her weight-loss journey over the last few years, sharing about her eating and exercise habits regularly. For her, 2009 was a year of great change and a watershed moment in her life. It was the year Lee found the courage to walk away from and close the door on a particularly difficult period of her life, and she grew into the woman she is today. Ricki-Lee lost 30 pounds after completely overhauling her diet about nine years ago, going from a size 14 to an 8, and has maintained her weight ever since.

The songwriter claims that the key to maintaining her lifestyle is to focus on how she feels rather than her weight. She ate almost entirely fruit, vegetables, chicken, and fish, with red meat appearing only once a week! Ricki Lee, who keeps a strict daily schedule, eats the same breakfast and lunch every day but changes up her dinner. Her breakfast consists of a banana and soy milk coffee, with nectarine, orange, or red seedless grapes as a nutritious mid-morning snack. Lunch consists of a salad, hummus, cherry tomatoes, pickled onions, and canned tuna drizzled with ginger sauce.

Other than this, the 37-year-old TV/radio presenter goes to the gym most days doing a combination of high-intensity workouts, lifting weights, and plenty of squats, squat jumps, and lunges — all for those booty gains. A step-up into a reverse lunge is one of her favorites. As a morning trainer, she prefers to get her workouts in before the sun rises, beginning her day with a 30-minute to one-hour run before hitting the gym. She alternates circuits that focus on different muscle groups (legs and booty or back and chest), high-intensity workouts, and weights on her gym days (such as deadlifts and squats).
